Zoll AED Plus Defibrillator

Zoll AED Plus Defibrillator

The Zoll AED Plus is not your ordinary defibrillator. By taking AEDs a step further, Zoll has created a complete resuscitation device that goes way beyond your ordinary AED. The Zoll AED Plus not only delivers a shock to the patient when it is needed but the AED also offers the user both voice and visual prompts going through all of the steps to CPR, reinforcing the fundamentals of resuscitation. This feature can help anyone from the novice to the expert to save lives quickly and efficiently.

It is a fact the early defibrillation helps save lives when someone stops breathing. An AED can do this for you. But what the Zoll AED Plus does is one step beyond a normal AED. The ZOLL AED Plus defibrillator features Real CPR Help, a tool that can help in any life-threatening situation. The ZOLL AED Plus is able to actually see what you are doing and provide feedback to help you do it well. The AED has both audio and visual prompts to help you perform the correct functions on a patient with more confidence, clarity and certainty than any other AED on the market.

Special Zoll CPR Feature

The Zoll AED Plus will respond to your actions when performing CPR. The defibrillator will tell you when to begin. If you are not pushing hard enough, the defibrillator will respond and tell you to push harder. If you compressions are the right strength, the Zoll AED plus defibrillator will also let you know it. If you are not confident about the rate you are pushing, you won’t have to worry. The Zoll AED Plus defibrillator has a metronome that will help you to find the correct rate. There is even a display to show you the depth of each of your compressions as you are actually performing them. If you stop before the patient is breathing again, the Zoll AED Plus will tell you that you need to continue. This type of smart technology can make a difference in an emergency situation.

Specialized Zoll Electrodes

The key to the Real CPR help of the Zoll AED Plus is in the specialized electrodes. These electrodes feed information about the patient as well as the actions being performed on the patient to help you make smart treatment decisions in a situation where a second can make all the difference.

Typically, your ordinary AED may come with two electrodes. While electrodes are critical to a defibrillator, the Zoll AED Plus has a unique feature called CPR- D Padz. Instead of being two-pieces, the Zoll AED Plus comes with a one piece pre-connected pair of electrodes. This feature allows the user to spring into action faster, without having to look for two electrodes before beginning the rescue. These pads also are guaranteed to last five year, the longest in the AED industry.

Another unique feature of the ZOLL AED Plus is that it can be used to defibrillate children up to eight years old with specialized electrodes. Pedi-Padz II electrodes allow the rescuer to use the Zoll AED Plus safely. When these specialized pads are connected to the defibrillator, the Zoll AED Plus adjusts its settings to assist the user with treating a child. This feature allows for more flexibility when needing to save lives.

Additional Zoll AED Features

Other key features of the ZOLL AED Plus Defibrillator include Rectilinear Biphasic Waveform, which has been labeled by the FDA to be clinically superior to the normally offered monophasic waves. The charge hold time on the Zoll AED Plus defibrillator is 30 seconds, helping to provide you with the time you need to act. There are a variety of energy selections to choose from, including 120J, 150J or 200J. To improve safety on the defibrillator, all patient connections are electrically isolated. This can help prevent shocks or additional current from reaching the patient.

The batteries on the Zoll AED Plus defibrillator are replaceable, which helps to ensure that you can keep your AED working in the long term. The battery capacity of the Zoll AED Plus defibrillator is five years, which is approximately 300 shocks or an hour and a half of continuous monitoring. When there is less than a half hour or fewer than 100 shocks remaining in the battery, a warning sign of a red x will appear in the control panel. When batteries are new, the recharge time on the Zoll AED Plus is less than 10 seconds. This is vitally important when you are in a situation where seconds count.

The unit also has a built in defibrillator self-test included, as well as a metronome rate that varies from 60 to 100 CPM. Shockable Rhythms for the Zoll AED Plus are via ventricular fibrillation with average amplitude >100 microvolts and wide complex ventricular tachycardia with rates greater than 150 BPM.
